White PVC card and color

Description of magnetic stripe

HiCo (High Coercivity) and LoCo (Low Coercivity) refer to the magnetic stripe technology used on PVC cards:

• HiCo cards have a stronger magnetic field (typically 2750 Oersted or higher), making them more durable and resistant to accidental erasure. They are commonly used for credit cards, access control, and employee ID cards.
• LoCo cards have a weaker magnetic field (300 Oersted), making them easier to encode but more susceptible to demagnetization. They are often used for hotel key cards, transit passes, and short-term applications.

Both types follow the ISO 7811 standard and can store data across three tracks. Some manufacturers even offer colored magnetic stripes for customization
